ELEVATE
It was great to see so many of you jump in on Monday’s weekly goal setting session! Our working lives are certainly becoming more demanding so it’s important we don’t get overwhelmed and pulled off track and away from the things that make us happy and keep us healthy. Alcohol and the recent good weather seemed to account for many people missing target this past week – so it was good to share that and draw up our commitments for the coming week!
This week’s reading gave us yet ever more reasons as to why we need to get our sleep game on point. Studies have shown that a lack of sleep is ona par with drink driving in its ability to impair judgment and reaction times and skipping a night’s sleep also has a severe impact on memory. More importantly one of the most feared diseases in western society, Alzheimer’s seems to have its origins in reduced sleep – with accumulating beta-amyloid only clearing from certain parts of the brain through adequate sleep.
